What are the Quality Expections?
-
Quality medical transcription requires above-average knowledge of English, punctuation and grammar. Excellent auditory skills are necessary in order to interpret sounds almost simultaneously with keyboarding. Advanced proofreading and editing skills, ensuring accuracy of transcribed material, are crucial. Highly developed analytical skills and deductive reasoning are imperative, as well. Versatility in the use of transcription equipment and computers is essential.
Why is Accurate Proofreading My Responsibility?
Here at Transcription Plus, LLC we require that each dictation is re-listened to while proofreading – listening to each and every word. Proofreading WORD FOR WORD is very important. Many times when you know what a sentence SHOULD say, that is what you see, instead of what the individual words actually say. Time MUST be set aside to accomplish work correctly. Work subcontracted through Transcription Plus, LLC is done so with the understanding that the proper amount of time will be dedicated to completing the work with 100 percent accuracy. THIS IS NOT AN OPTION — IT IS A REQUIREMENT.

A transcriptionist working with Transcription Plus, LLC is expected to be a responsible person with honed, quality skills…able to pick up 99.9 percent of the errors that are made, before work is submitted. This entails much more than technical medical skills — grammar, punctuation and common sense skills are also essential. Safeguards are in place at Transcription Plus, LLC whereby it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE for common errors to slip by, provided the safeguards are being followed closely. Posing a question through the appropriate avenues, if not 100% positive of the simplest to the most complex issues, is always correct. Guessing is always wrong. Know when to doubt…doubt often…and…when in doubt, ask – never assume.
Confidentiality Policy
All client information and/or procedures which are specific to your office are highly confidential. It is extremely important that this confidence not be breached. You must never divulge any information pertinent to a client and/or their patients to anyone.
Compensation
Unlike most transcription companies, Transcription Plus, LLC pays by the hour, not by line or page count. In order to obtain the quality requirements set forth by this company, we have found that this arrangement is considerably more equitable and fairer, not only for our subcontractors but our clients as well.
What Does Being an Independent Subcontractor Mean?
The advantages of working at home as an independent subcontractor include allowing more personal and family freedom, a flexible schedule, less stress and the ability to save money on work-related expenses such as business attire and transportation. A subcontractor is required to own the equipment and supplies required to perform the job. A subcontractor is responsible for filing and paying of all Federal, State, FICA and/or any other applicable taxes.
Don't Have Hands-On Experience?
Unlike many transcription companies, Transcription Plus, LLC may be willing, in select cases, to work with you to assist in developing your skill level…provided you possess the outlined work-ethic requirements.
